What steps are being taken to protect against COVID-19?
We at chillma strive to ensure the safety of our guests and realize there are concerns about COVID 19. Listed below are some of the procedures we follow.
- 1. We have alcohol disinfectant set up and ask all guests for their cooperation in disinfecting their hands.
- 2. All rooms and public spaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
- 3. All staff undergoes temperature and health checks as well as performing regular hand washes, gargling, and disinfection.
- 4. Staff will serve customers wearing a mask upon request.
- 5. Air conditioning is maintained and regularly ventilated.
We will thoroughly implement hygiene measures to prevent infection and secondary infections.
We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
How many people may stay in a room?
All rooms house at most 2 adults and up to one child (elementary age or younger) doing sleep share. There are no accommodations for very young children such as extra beds, baby chairs, high chairs, etc. We ask for your understanding on this matter.
Is it possible to bring more than one child even if I/we don't mind it being cramped?
We're sorry, but you cannot.
The main aim for us is to run a facility that is geared towards adults who can enjoy the private beach and the view from up high.
Having even more than one child above the set limit could allow for unforeseeable danger for your children
as well as interfering with the enjoyment other customers. Therefore, we cannot allow this.
*Note: It is possible for larger families to reserve two rooms (4 adults and 2 sleep-sharing children max)
Is it possible to stay long term?
Absolutely. Each room has a kitchen, laundry machine, and other necessary utilities. Wireless internet is also available, so it's definitely possible to stay long term. For more details, please contact us.
Is it possible to charter the whole hotel?
We're sorry to say that this is not currently possible.
Is it possible to go on standby for cancellations?
Cancellation standby is unavailable for first-time customers. In the event of a cancellation, our site's reservation page will automatically be updated with any and all empty spots. Please check the reservation page for any available spots that may come up.
What time are check in and check out?
Check in is from 15:00 (3:00pm) to 18:30 (6:30pm). Check out is up until 11:00am.
*For check ins prior to 15:00 (3:00pm), customers will must select "early check in"
Is food provided?
Yes. Starting in November, 2018 there is a restaurant on site called Umizora. For guests wishing to cook, cooking utensils and condiments are also provided in the rooms.
Can I/we use the pool or private beach prior to checking in or after checking out?
We don't allow usage prior to checking in. On the check out day, however,
it's possible to use these facilities (pool, private beach, and shower room) until 15:00 (3:00pm).
*Depending on the type of reservation or if maintenance needs to be done, it may not be possible to use these facilities at all. We ask for your understanding and cooperation. Also, during this time, we cannot take any responsibility for your personal belongings or valuables.
Is it possible to use cell phones or the internet?
For docomo and au customers, most parts of our facility shouldn't have any problems, but the signal strength may vary inside the rooms.
For SoftBank customers, most of the northern part of Okinawa has no service provided and it will likely be difficult to get a signal.
For PHS (Y! mobile) customers, we have an antenna set up, but it may be difficult to get a signal in the rooms. We ask for your understanding on this matter.
All rooms have WiFi access spots set up so customers using a laptop or cell phone will be able to access the internet.
Are there any problems with insects or other animals?
chillma is in a very natural area. Depending on the season, geckos, frogs, insects, moths, or spiders can be around the facility and have sometimes gotten inside.
We do our best to prevent such pests from entering by using screens, water basins, and environmentally-friendly pesticides, but unfortunately these are not flawless. If any such pests happen to get in your room, please use the nets and insecticides provided or notify the staff.
Also, the gecko is not considered a true pest and as such, the staff cannot actually exterminate it, but rather catch it and set it free outside.
For times when there are a lot of insects or if you're planning to leave your windows open all night, please use the screens provided.
Can I have my luggage shipped to chillma early or have it shipped home?
Before shipping any luggage, please be sure to allow enough time for your luggage to arrive.
Also, if shipping anything, please be sure to write your name and check-in date on the shipping slip clearly and send a copy of the mail slip's number by e-mail.
If you are shipping any sort of spray cans, lithium batteries, or other hazardous materials or if the contents are not specifically stated, shipping will likely take more than one week to arrive. Shipping back home can only be done with Takkyubin or the standard postal service.
Information regarding typhoons and cancellations
In accordance with our policy, any canceled reservations will incur a cancellation charge regardless of the reason. This includes, but is not limited to, flight cancellations due to typhoons.

Can I stay with my pet?
